WELL FOLKS, I WAITED AS LONG AS I COULD TO POST THIS, BUT IT DOES'NT LOOK LIKE WE HAVE ANGLETON RACEWAY ANY LONGER. I TRIED TO GET IN TOUCH WITH THE OWNER, BUT MY CALL WAS NEVER RETURNED, AND I FINALLY GOT IN TOUCH WITH RICKY AND HE CONFIRMED WHAT I HEARD.
THE TRACK HAS APPARENTLY BEEN SOLD TO SOMEONE OUT OF STATE, AND WILL BE CONVERTED TO A HELICOPTER BASE OR HELIPORT. THERE WAS ALOT OF HOPE THAT THE TRACK WOULD BE REOPENED UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP WITH INPROVMENTS, BUT THATS NOT THE CASE. I HAD A LOT OF GOOD TIMES AND MEMORIES OUT THERE AND MADE A LOT OF FRIENDS. I WATCHED IT FROM THE TIME THEY BROKE GROUND AND WAS THERE OPENING DAY. I TRULY FEEL LIKE I HAVE LOST A FRIEND.
You will be missed. Had a lot of great times and met a bunch of great people out there. Guess we will have to venture to Sealy for IHRA bracket program. Or is Navasota IHRA?
Sealy is not out of the question, they are willing to try and lease the track to someone for a bracket series.. Navasota is putting on a bracket program this year.. They are not santioned at this time, but we may be able to work on that.. give them a chance.
Certainly disappointing. I enjoyed my time, for the
last four years, making some new friends and learning
more about the sport.
Best of luck to all the racers.
Randy
I plan on trying to make as many Navasota races as possible to promote their bracket program. My main goal is to have an IHRA track to run for the finals and the summit super series.
Spent a lot of time, work, sweat, money and made 100's of passes out there. I met a lot of really great people and not one I wouldn't call a friend. It was fun while it lasted. It was a good run and you guys were the ones that made it possible. It's just one of those memories that we'll pass on that will make people say "cool, I wish I could of been there". I hope to see all of you again and don't be afraid to stop by my trailer and visit.
