Happy Memorial day

I called my dad today to wish him a happy Memorial day and to thank him for serving our country. Jack sr. is a surviving veteren of WW 2. He recieved a purple heart for a wound he got in battle. He tells me stories of the war all the time, and at age 93 he remembers them in great detail. Today he told me the last two weeks or so of the war were very stressful, hoping he would make it and get to come back home. Out of 220 men in his company, less than 20 were still with him, some injured and many dead..

My dad is a hero in my eyes, and I can't imagine what it was like to go through what he did. Thanks dad and all veterans and all who are serving at present time.

Have a good Memorial day everyone.

Jack

Re: Happy Memorial day

We are deeply indebted to those who have preserved the freedoms that we so greatly enjoy today. My dad also served in WWII in field artillery. Heroes like Mr. Robinson and my dad, and many who didn't return from the wars deserve more Honor and respect than we can ever show them. I attended a ceremony at the Angleton Cemetery this morning to honor those who are no longer with us and to place flags on their graves. As is often said, we owe so much to those who have served and continue to serve. Be sure to remember all of our service men and women in our prayers to keep them safe. Hope everyone is having a blessed Memorial Day (formerly known as Decoration Day).
