My thoughts on the Lone Star bracket bash.

Great, had a wonderful time !! A bracket racing spiritual experiance lol... It was like an all nite party for bracket racing, a reunion, well at least for me. My body and brain is still tired and it's Monday.

I saw friends that I haven't seen in years, racers from Temple, San Antonio, Hill county and all over the Houston area came to race and had a good time.
I'm not sure of the final car count, but I haven't seen that many racers at Sealy in many years. Yes, I heard some complaining from some racers and there was some bumps through out the night and a couple of questionable decisions made, but it all worked out in the end.

It was strange to see the sun rising when your heading to the lanes for the final round, and I want to applaud those racers and crews who endured the long nite. After the Iron Man trophies were awarded and pics taken, there were celebrations going on in the pits, I thought that was cool.

I hope we can do this again, maybe with a few changes for the better. I also want to thank Gary Espinoza and Bob Key for giving us a chance to show them how dedicated we bracket racers really are.

Congratulations to all the finalist, David Lissman for hanging tuff and Bruce Sizemore for just being a bad azz in that Mopar.

Well put Jack. If that didnt show the powers of Lonestar the bracket racers dedication and their want to have a bracket program at Lonestar then they cant be pleased. I would imagine they were pleased with car count. It was great to see racers I hadnt seen in a few years also. Looking forward to a program next year hopefully it works out.

Re: My thoughts on the Lone Star bracket bash.

In 30+ years of drag racing that was one of the best nights of racing I've had. That had to be the Woodstock of drag racing! It's been a long time since I drove a racecar at 3:00 in the morning and my 11-year-old grandson was up until 4:00 winning his Ironman in junior dragster. He decided to stay up in a lawn chair with his Ironman and watch the sun come up! I don't think that we'll ever top that night. Also, we never would've made it without Terry Coldwater. Thanks Lonestar!
