Jack, you are probably one of the smartest guys I know when it comes to bracket racing. I wonder "why" on saturday are there 600 plus cars show up, at least 1/3 of them are back half cars, tube chassis cars or great foot brake cars. The majority of them are from right here in our back yard, Houston. They came out in force! They ran up and down the track all day for nothing but "the fun of it."
It would be awsome to have even half the turn out on race day. I just wonder "WHY" those guys dont turn out to race?
Just curious, I just have not got it out of my mind the large turnout in cars and people on Saturday. It sure felt good seeing "race cars and vintage cars" are still plentiful! Just wish they would come out more often and have some fun with the rest of us.
You got me on that one. I really don't know who was there, but I do know the track management was happy.
I have seen races like Pinks and SuperChevy with tons of cars that I rarely see or have never seen before. I may be wrong, but I think there are way more car enthusiest that show for special events like this and they just don't give a hoot about bracket racing.
Maybe a "show and shine" event at our bracket races would bring in more spectators.
See!,. I told you that you were the smartest! I really think and have been thinking all week on how "we" could cash in on some sort of a show by teaming up with these guys.
There is something out there, it just needs to be figured out. Like I said, there were so many local bracket cars NOT to be racing. I bet there was at least 100 cars that I have never seen and they were all from houston, spring, tomball, friendswood....so close not to come out.
