Some of the racers met up with ole Billy Kestner and B.B. Bailey yesterday at the track to see what all was needed to get the strip back to tip top shape.
Lots of mowing, weedeating and cleanup to be done but they said no problem. Heck a bunch of racers showed up with mowers, bush-hogs, weed eaters and blowers. Billy K. says they are shooting for a test and tune shake down weekend in a couple of weeks.
It will be IHRA sanctioned and will be running points for the bracket finals.
B.B. says you had better have your junk right cause he is scraping the track, washing the track and putting his signature recipe prep on the track. And if it pulls your boots off as well as your cars rearend, then it is just right. I'm going early just to get that old Bubble Gum spell that I haven't had in years!
They are fixing all the restrooms, snack bar and such to get it back into a comfortable family atmosphere!
I told them kinda late in the year and B.B. says heck we used to not start points till the first of April anyways lets RACE!
I do believe that the same number for the track (936-699-3227) will be in operation and Billy Kestners number is (936-371-2627)
