Just made a quick road trip to West Virginia and back. Left Friday at 2pm and got home at 9:45 last night. 1267 miles up there and 1277 miles on the return trip and both totally different routes. I drove until about 1:30 Saturday morning and stopped at a rest stop for about 4 hours to get a little sleep. My wife thought that I was kidding when I said that we would sleep at a rest stop on the way up....she was not thrilled at all!!! Got to Weston, West Virginia at about 6pm Texas time checked into a motel, watched NHRA qualifing then crashed until Sun morning. Got up to about 1/2" of snow on the truck and trailer and still a little snow falling. Once the sun came out the snow melted pretty quickly, but it was still cold. Loaded up the car I went up there to get and headed home about 11:15am Texas time. Drove until about 9:30 when we stopped in Mayfield, Ky. Started out Monday morning going into about a 25-30mph head wind. Man, that trailer catches some wind!!! The wind finally died down about West Memphis, Arkansas and the rest of the trip was uneventful. Sure was good to sleep in my own bed last night. Fran said that the next time we do this she is going to make sure that sleeping at rest stops is not part of the plan!!! Hope that the car is ready to debut at Angleton on Saturday. It sure is pretty, and looks like it will be super fast!!!! COME ON SATURDAY!!! Ready to hear some power and smell some rubber burning.

What kind of car did you get Bill? And Jack, I've been there and need to go back. Beautiful place, and Smoky does't have an "E" in it. Thanks.......Later......
Bobby, I'm sworn to secrecy for now. LOL. It is for Jim Naylor and it is red. Also, it was very hard for this fat old man to get in and out of, but I did it. Looks nice in my trailer, wish it was mine. Don't know how it would run with a small block Mopar in it!!!
