Question about LSR (LSMP)

Anybody know if LSMP will still have some events in the eighth mile even when they finish the quarter mile? (just curious...) Thanks

Re: Question about LSR (LSMP)

Absolutely! We will continue to have 1/8th mile events, there are too many cars set up to run the 1/8th that we won't leave them out of the fun!

Re: Question about LSR (LSMP)

Hey, thanks TW for the response. Is Friday Night Street Stock one of those eighth mile possibilities? If not, then I'll leave my Nitto's at home... Thanks again!

Re: Question about LSR (LSMP)

Not sure on how we're gonna run Street Stock once we get to a 1/4 mile. I'll discuss it with all the racers and see what we come up with. Perhaps we could alternate between 1/8th and 1/4? Just a thought to throw out there.

Re: Question about LSR (LSMP)

Barnyard does not want to run 1/4 mile in SS, Please.

Or Jack pot!!! Barnyard does not want to run 1/4 mile

AT ALL. Please.

Re: Question about LSR (LSMP)

Hello Chris, we finally agree on something!!! If I ran my Nitto's in the quarter, my little engine would be spinning about 6600, not good with stock pistons.... See ya soon (hopefully)

Re: Question about LSR (LSMP)

Well considering I drive PAST a 1/4 mile dragstrip that is less than 20 miles from home..to drive 82 miles to LSR to run the 1/8th mile races, I think that pretty much "sums up" my "humble opinion" of 1/4 mile tracks.

Considering the MPH difference between the 1/8th and the 1/4 mile is only 20MPH for most street cars, I really dont see the point of the additional wear and tear on my car, for a measly 20 MPH.

TW: keep in mind this 1/4 mile pipe dream isn't something "the bracket racers" dreamed up.

If they convert SS to 1/4 mile, your gonna lost alot of your current racers, granted you MIGHT pick up a couple as well..

but do you really want to turn your back on the racers who have STUCK WITH LSR thru THICK and (mr.wear}THIN?

Also consider the down time that is going to be associated with "clean up" when cars PUKE their guts betweeen the 660' mark and the 1320 mark... as folks try to gain 21MPH instead of only 20MPH.

Just my humble opinion sir.. nothing more, nothing less.

Re: Question about LSR (LSMP)

P.S. THANKS FOR DINNER TW!!!

it was cool hangin' out with ya bro!

See ya soon
Tommy

Re: Question about LSR (LSMP)

I would probably start racing SS if it was a 1/4 mile. All the sudden the great light is not enough, the drivers ability to drive on the top end becomes just as important as the ability to cut a light.

Re: Question about LSR (LSMP)

There is still a "finish stripe" in the 1/8th mile.

Top end tactics are pretty much the same in the 1/8th or the 1/4.

You still have to cut a light in the 1/4 mile as well..
it's still the same ole "snooze ya lose".

Re: Question about LSR (LSMP)

It's just a little harder to fender race when the closing differential speed is increased 20 mph.

Re: Question about LSR (LSMP)

FE-Rex We all so have to race 6-second Motor cycle.

In Street Stock, no fender racing.

So just bring it!!!

Re: Question about LSR (LSMP)

personally i prefer to run 1/4 mile.if it an 1/8 mile track thats ok too.but it sucks to run 1/8 mile on a 1/4 track.just seems like your getting short changed .my car is more consistent in the 1/8 but it leaves no room for error.in the 1/4 i can make up a bad light with the spray and slam the door shut on top end and hope to break out my opponet.in the 1/8th its harder to do.but thats drag racing.either way its all fun.ill run 1/4 and 1/8.i think what makes Sealy so special to so many is the fact that its always been 1/8th mile.

Re: Question about LSR (LSMP)

Well my opinion on the matter is that it really doesnt make any difference to me!!! I LOVE to go racing and am glad taht the track is open and seems to be wanting to work with us racers for a change. When is the last time that you had anyone from HRP ask you what you'd like?? I know the 8 races over 4 weekends may not be like a LOT but its better than nothing!! Turn it to 1/4 mile it doesnt matter to me. Its fun either way!!!
