A PART OF LONE STAR LEFT US TODAY

Today at about 5:00 p.m. Mr jim, Dee's father left this world after long bout with kidney problems. Most of us remember him as the guy that run the gas shack. Keep Dee and Glen in your thoughts and prayers. I will post more information when it comes available.

Mr. Jim was one of the nicest people I 've ever met. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Dee, Glen and Family.

Re: A PART OF LONE STAR LEFT US TODAY

Sorry to hear of the loss of one of the good things I remember about running at Lonestar. It was always a pleasure to talk with him everytime I came in the gate of Lonestar.

Re: A PART OF LONE STAR LEFT US TODAY

I agree with Chris I really enjoyed visiting with him when Id go purchase fuel at the track. Always had something nice or funny to say EVERYONE who came to see him. He always made a point to fix me up with a little extra fuel in jug and you dont know how I appreciated that one!!! My prayers are with you Dee I know its hard to lose one of your parents. Keep a smile on your face and know that we all feel your lose and will miss him as well..

Re: A PART OF LONE STAR LEFT US TODAY

Thanks for all the kind wishes and thanks to Darvin for getting the word out to you all. I know it was quick but sometimes I think that is best. Mom didn't want it to linger and with the Holiday weekend things had to be sped up. Yes, Dad was a wonderful man and I miss him terribly. But he lived a full life and was surrounded by some wonderful friends to which we refered to as extended family members. Mom is doing as well as can be expected and has been comforted by everyone's well wished. Glen told me about the posts on this web site and I just now felt up to reading everything. I'll see him again and I'll pick right up drinking him nuts when we are together again. Thanks again for the thoughts and prayers. Dee and Morton Family members.

Dee , your dad was a great man. Everyone at Lone Star allways showed so much care when I raced there. But your father allways had a story to tell. I will remember those and him forever..... Brian Brader

Re: A PART OF LONE STAR LEFT US TODAY

Dee & Glen, I wish I would have known in time to make the services, I had a lot of respect for Mr. Jim. I would pit near the fuel station, spent a lot of time talking to him, he would do most of the talking, He will be missed greatly.
My family is keeping ya'll in our prays.

Dee & family -

It is sad to hear the news of Mr. Jim's passing. When you run week in and week out like we used to at Sealy, everyone becomes an extended family. He will be missed. - Will Hanna & Family
