brackets vs index

JACK I AM AWARE THAT YOU OR THIS BOARD DOES NOT HAVE ANY SCHEDULE RESPONSIBILITIES, BUT IT IS PUZZLING, THAT WITH ONLY TWO IHRA TRACKS CLOSE BY, ONE WOULD HOLD INDEX RACES ON THE OTHERS BRACKET DAYS WITH WHAT APPEARS TO BE PLENTY OF OFF DAYS TO CHOSE FROM. MABEY
SOMEONE IN THE KNOW WOULD ENLIGHTEN ME. I WOULD RATHER GO TO BOTH.

Re: brackets vs index

With what little experiance i've had at setting up schedules for Angleton, I can say that scheduling is very time consuming and difficult. I dont think any of the track operators want to sched. or step on anybodies toes, but things happen and there are only so many weeks in a month, also Sat. is the prime day to have a money making event so overlapping events are bound to happen. Drag strips are just like any other business, they are tying to pull in the same crowd of racers and fans. If you think about it, the track promoters are trying to attract the index racers, bracket racers, clobberthoners, 10.5 guys and outlaws, also the street stockers, NHRA racers and the test n tuners..all this while trying to keep the paying spectators interested enough to keep coming back every week. When you throw in a bad weekend weather report it makes schedule races very hard. I know I dont have a anwser and I don't think any of the track promoters do either, you just take your chances and go with it....jack
