THEY HAD A NICE CROWD, BUT DUE TO WATER SEEPAGE ON THE TRACK SURFACE THEY CALLED THE RACE ABOUT 4.30.. I GOT A FEW PICTURES , AND ILL HAVE THEM UP SOON....JACK
THE RACE WAS RE SCHEDULED FOR MAY 27TH, SO IT WASNT LOST TO RAIN OUT!!!
I wish HRP was better about looking at other tracks schedules before they reschedule a race. They know that their racers race at other tracks, but they think that- I won't go there.I will be at Angleton on the 27th.
i would like to see HRP go to a two race weekend like the motorplex does, that would work well for most people i m thinking.. if it rains sat, you could maybe double on Sun. if nessisary, plus with the cost of fuel..... HRP could also schedule other events in those open spots..it would also make it easier for other tracks to schedule around Hrp.. just my opinion!!
I think you are correct in that HRP would benefit from holding two-day races like the Motor Plex.. I know there are some racers that would come out to HRP and race if they could race back to back and only have to travel once to the track. With the price of fuel these days and no end in sight a lot of people are staying home that live far away. That is the reason that we haven't made it to an Angleton race yet. Living on the north side it is as close to make PVR or even Sealy.
Dang it Jack I was at track again and you with camera and you took a picture of the back of my trailer but not my car. Oh well the trailer is prettier right now anyways. LOL As far as the two day race thing I think it would be a great idea as well. Gas approaching $3 a gallon kills us. This past weekend we spent $90 on fuel in tow rig and generator to come all the way out from Tomball only to be turned away at staging laneswith the water seeping story. Burned $45 worth of fuel to NOT GET IN A SINGLE PASS!!!!! We will be back on the 27th to make up race because we want to run car in 1/4.
