read your post Wes, im sure i was at that race at DIMS, I was also at the race that Art Arfon crashed his jet, I was probly about 18 then, it was a tragic wreak ill never forget..Im still digging up pictures, probly lost more than i thought (divorce)??, anyway we'll keep in touch.... jack

Hello Jack. Funny (or actually, not) that you should bring up the Arfons accident. That was in late '72, I worked at DIMS in '73. While I had some spare time, I rummaged around the shut-down area in the field to the right of the strip and found the spindle that had a part of the magnesium wheel that supposedly exploded causing that accident. WOW, did I get in trouble with that. The lawsuits were still going on when I found the part a year later. Anyway, gee, history, what a fascinatng thing indeed! Check ya later.

Ya know, I was checking this post and saw that there has been 66 views of this topic. HEY, anybody else have any "history" they would like to share, go ahead and post it here.
