When the owner of a wonderful bookstore, The Turning Page, (now closed) turned me on to these books, I went on Amazon and ordered all of them, about 4-5 at a time. I have every one of them, but not Night of the Lightbringer, because it is still too expensive!
Like everyone else, I am in love with Fidelma and her wonderfully patient husband. What a fascinating character! Makes you think!
Many thanks,
Mercedes Ramos

Started reading the occasional one of these books years ago having had them recommended by a friend. At Christmas 2017 that friend lent me three of the earlier books. Since then I have bought five in paperback, four on Kindle, have had four from the library (and read all of them) and just about to go out and pick up a fifth from the library. I am seriously addicted to these. The mysteries are great but the social and religious history is wonderful. Now I must also go and read up on Pelagius. Thanks go to Peter for writing the books and David for this website.

Hi all from down under, just love the Fidelma mysteries, don\'t know how Peter puts them all together to give us, the readers such a very real experience. They would make superb movies! Usually don\'t read non-fiction, but began reading medieval mysteries when my darling Mum started to deteriorate, prompted by our Cadfael movies, and through all this found Fidelma, such an awesome lady. Most of them were in our library but had to buy 7 of them so far and will likely get the rest eventually. My husband bought me a Fidelma tote bag and it gets many questions when I use it - so cool! Greetings and salutations to all, Elizabeth

I first came across Sister Fidelma through the short stories in Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine. I\'ve been interested in mysteries set in ancient times because there is a lot less interference with technology in all areas of life. Once I had learned there were books available, I started borrowing the ebooks from our local library. I have learned so much about the ancient laws and customs and found a deeper appreciation for Ireland. My wife wants to go there sometime and now I do, too!

I started working at the library and saw books by Peter Tremayne being put out for discard so I withdrew them for myself and started reading one. I was told by a co-worker to start with the first book since they kind of are in chronological order. So I started with the first one and have been hooked ever since. Just waiting for the last three published from 2015 - 2017 to be bought by the library. Love the idea of going to Cashel some day to see where it all began.

Love the books, especially the history and how life changed with Rome taking over the Celtic Church. Just one question: when the author says \"she spotted the dead body and genuflected,\" does the author really mean to say \"she crossed herself\" instead? Genuflecting is normally what one does in a church building, paying reverence to the tabernacle.

Am currently on book #15. Have also read the 2 short story compilations. What a fantastic series! Learning much history through these well crafted tales. The charscters, both continuing and one-time individuals, hold my interest. Such a pleasure.

Just read novel# 25 -\"Penance of the Damned\" and it was definitely up to Mr Tremayne\'s caliber of story telling. I certainly hope there will e novel 26 next year if not sooner. I thoroughly enjoy the chemistry between Sister Fidelma and Brother Eadulf.
Thank you Tom Stadtmiller PS I also read Fidelma in German

Love the books, so filled with factual material and yet interesting and imaginative. I even reread the intro each time to reinforce my learning.
While I appreciate the pronunciation guide in the back it is not enough to make me feel confident of pronunciation as I read the books. I noticed that you listed the principal characters. It would be very helpful if the names could be shown there with phonetic pronunciations.
Keep up the good work. It makes a scientist like history.

Dear Sirs,

we like Tremayne\'s Fidelma novels very much and read all his books. But we miss a good map of Fidelma\'s Ireland; the little survey in the books (in all german editions) is very inexact (only few names). Is an exact map anywhere available?

Thank you and best regards from Bavaria / Southern Germany
