Dream in forest with creatures

Apologies if my typing and nature of my works is not great but this is my first time trying this again and I really want to reach out for support and help and i don’t think anyone i know can help me with the problems I face. I am having recurring vivid and horrid dreams every night now. they abated for some time and ceased to bring feing to me but now they have come back with a vengence and it is mortifying and upsetting.

I am now having a dream about being in a forest. I am walking in it, but I am not myself i am someone else. Someone different, still a man I think. My hands are rough shod and callasted and I have no shoes on. My skin is tanned, like I work in the sun all day. I have no blisters or pains though. My nails are clean and so is my skin, and my clothes. So whilst I know I must be a worker i feel clean and spared. My clothes are a simple tesha which comes down to my knees. it is white and light and clean. Everything feels clean. And I feel good.

Thatr might be the second worst thing about having this dream is that I know what will happen, not just because i have dreamt it before but even the first time i felt like i knew but was happy but i didnt until I saw it in my dreamscape place. I walk on, alone. Through a heavy wood with a great many trees which surround and enclose me from all sides. There is no path but i know the direction I must head. There are leaves on the trees and moss on the bark but there are no animal sounds. as I walk there is only silence. No bees or rabbits or deer or birds in the woods. Not even insects seem to be about. The roots of the trees make a complicated floor of knots and tendrils which interlink revealing patches of ground underneath sometimes. There is no grass there just more green fuzzy moss which erupts from the crevices wherever it can.

I don’t know what type of tree they are. they almost feel like generic or not real trees to me. Just wood with green leaves on and I don’t understand why none of this bothers me. I continue to walk along through my empty forrst, sure in my direction. I cannot make myself change course. it is like someone else is there and I am watching and thinking but never allowed to talk or interact. i feel the bark under my hands, i feel the moss under my feet, but i cannot change any of them. The moss is cool but the trees are cold even though a sun hangs in the sky above me. It is sheilded by the green leaves though and leaves everything in sight a pale version of the colour of the leaves themselves. I walk on for maybe 200 metres, never stumbling or falling in the mass of roots but continue onto my destination with a purpose.

and then there is a clearing in the forrest. The trees stop and the moss. there is no grass here either and without the sound of my footsteps i can really hear the quiet. it is truly terrifying to hear nothing to me now bar my own breathing and heart thumping. Both of these fill my ears now as I walk towards the tower. and every night I strain with every fibre to stop and not go into it but I keep walking toward it. It rises up in front of me.

It is a stone monolith maybe 3-4 stories in height. It is round and made of grey stone. There are no windows or markings on it. N ot even bricks. its like it is cut from one whole stone and then placed. No moss grows on it and the ground around it is mearly dry dirt. As I step toward the tower i walk around to a door in the side. the door has wierd symbols on it like letters or japanese or chinese writing but i dont know it. they are on the lip of the frame not the outside which is still all bare.

I walk around the tower 3 times. i dont know why i dont want to. When I come back to the doorway i can see the tower in front of me still. there is no sound. i can barely hear the wind, it sounds far away but i can’t feel it on my skin either. Inside the tower is some steps which I can see. And I walk inside.

Inside the tower steps are carved into the sides going around and up. they are the same material as the rest of the tower. the floor steps and walls are all cold hard grey featureless stone. as I walk acroos the floor my footsteps make a padding noise in the silence. But the silence is broken when I put my first foot on the step.

As soon as I put my foot on the step I start to hear things. Like sounds on the wind. Wierd things, like crying distantly. I dont’t seem to care though and i continue up the stairs as if it doesn’t matter. Each step I take makes the sounds louder. they sound like chittering insects. thousands of them screaming at once, fighting, clawing. and it only gets louder with each step. The steps go around the tower 3 times and at the top I can see a door, that is right over the entrance door.

I always want to go back now. I nevger have an urge to explore. not even the first time i had the dream. I always felt terrified. thrroughout the dream. Like what was there was awful and scared me in my head. I keep walking all the time now though. Always toward that upper doorway. I can feel my heart but hear nothing over the chattering and screeching .

When I walk outside I am greeted by something horrible. on the gorund there are hundreds of creatures. writhing masses of green tentacles. they look like the trees from before but more alive and moving and causing over each other and interlocking. and there are faces and mouths among the spawling dreets that are screaming and chittering. I don’t know if its to me or to each other. the sound of them poiunding their tendrils on the gorund also echoes about and knocks of the tower. If I look down I can see i am standing on a small outcrop of rock now.

it is barely bigger than a doormat but if i look past it i cant see the door i came in. only those things throwing themselves up against the tower. bloated tongues protruding up from thick and thin wraps of wooden flesh and still always screaming.

but if i look up its worse. hanging above me in the sky is a huge green moon. it has eyes and motuhs and teeth and tenta cles and it seems wet. huge troughs run down its body with sweat pouring in between it i assume which filters off the bottom and falls onto the creatures bellow like huge goblets of rain. this liquid is tinged green.

it sits maybe 7 or 8 miles above but dominates thew sky in its size. on its edges i see some red sky but very little. instead my view is taken up by its mouths and appendages and for some reason im not scared. deep down im hoirrified and terrified and want to cry and know what Im seeing cant be real. But the person I am feels happy and stands there, his arms open. Then this wrigging tentacle comes out from the moon creature.

I can hear it move. huge grinding sounds come and liquid that drips off it makes a spash. There is a loud pop and slurping sound and the end of the tentacle detaches itself from the creature thing. Each mouth was as big as a truck and the tentacle was like the tube of an airplane in size without wings is all I can think. As it came down it rumbled like rocks and grated like metal bnoth together at once. the tentacle was more than long enough to come down to me and soon it was only a few meters away from me.

the tip of the tentacle faces me and the creatureews bellow are going ballistic. the screaming and clicking goes to driving me to deafness and then the horrifying moment comes. the end of the tentacle open with a loud pop. Inside the green tentacle is more green. No teeth just huge gum l;ike edges with look soft and velvety. The tentacle comes towards me open, drool i assume puring out of it. And then It simply closes around me.

And thats it. I find everything goes siulent once it closes. It is velvety and soft and slimy inside and I am quickly smothered in the flesh of inside the tentacle. And then I wake up.

I have had the dream now for 5 nights. not every night in a row but the other nights have different dreams but this is the most alareming one so far and thwey have been getting worse and ~I am scared of what will happen next. If you can help please do.

Re: Dream in forest with creatures

Robert,
I won't interpret all the individual images since there are so many and to do so would probably need a further explanation to their relevance to the other images. That could go on forever and still not add much clarity to their symbolic/metaphorical reference. I will instead focus on the forest and the tower since these two images seem to have the most importance to the dream scenario. Like a play dreams are depictions of an ongoing cycle of events that in the end will hopefully provide an understanding to the central theme.

A forest is nature's retreat and in dreams most often signifies personal growth. But in your dream there is a void, no sounds, no actions, merely a void. This is your inner world and what is going on inside your psyche is a reflection of either what is happening in your outer world and/or has influence over that ego self. In this instance I believe it is the influences that are central, the stimuli from early life experiences that have control over your waking life {negative}. If not that {that will play at least a partial role} then there are neurological issues in play that are controlling in some manner in your life.

The dream does seem to offer great potential to your life {great many trees-trees also a symbol of personal/spiritual growth}. But there are no sounds, nothing vibrates within you, no stimulus for growing or enjoyment of the natural self {true self}. So much so that the 'trees' in your dream reflect an outer life that is artificial, not real or true to who you really are. An inauthentic life. Moss would symbolize a very slow progression of growth and instead of grass {a symbol for continuous growth despite the usual impediments in life}. This is your inner world and either is reflected in your outer world or is so influencing the ego self you are not aware of it.

In all individual path there are psychological barriers/conflicts and one must travel a distance to get to a clear understanding of what they are {the clearing in the forest}. This is often a prelude to discovering something profound about yourself, often something terrifying {emotionally}. And whether you are prepared or not the emotional issues will rise up before you and will either liberate you or destroy you {psychologically, and always the possibility physically}. This is the tower in your dream.

A tower is a place of defense, protection. It can also be a symbol for the head, the intellect, the thinking process. It can be a place of imprisonment. What is imprisoned are aspects of your true self, the emotional experiences/influences that are locked away within the deep unconscious {all great towers have dungeons}. There are no windows, no way to see what is within the walls. This may suggest repressed memories or experiences. Or it could represent neurological walls, physical barriers to seeing beyond the walls within the mind. There is weird symbols on the entrance, symbolic references that when opened up in the mind will let you see {but you must be able to open the doors}.

Once within the tower you go up {going within, a psychological search}. Once you begin this process you start a process of hearing/seeing/feeling your true self. You encounter psychological screams of your emotional self. What is locked inside is horrible, and that is reflected in your outre life when examined. It is your true self and that needs to be rescued. It takes bravery, the discipline of the hero to proceed. But as with most that is lacking, you must turn back, you are so afraid to face the demonic inner voices {a natural response to most deep emotional conflicts}. You do not wish to explore further because of what awaits you within {psychologically/or neurologically}.

On the outside there are horrible creatures {because you have not confronted the inner demons they take form in your outer life}. The ground is the natural foundations to who you are and usually point to life experiences/influences that are the building blocks to your personality and psyche. Instead of trees there are expanding tentacles of emotional energies. That threaten to expand further into your life.

These inner issues seem not to be instantly devouring mechanisms but something that is slowly taking place. Often repressed emotional conflicts come slowly to conscious view. I sense this is what is taking place in your life. Either there are deeply repressed emotional issues that are locked away within your unconscious or there are neurological factors involved that have control over aspects of your psyche. If you can provide a general description of your life as it is today, as well as some insights to your childhood, I may be able to better pinpoint what the issues are. Are there emotional issues locked away that you are so afraid of you can not but help turn away from thinking about them? If these issues have just begun to show themselves then either there is something that has stimulated that process, or if neurological issues then they are beginning to get worse.

Note. I don't often address neurological issues in a dream but my sense is there is the possibility this could be the case. Instead of the normal psychological issues that dreams address there may be neurological issues. That could suggest phsyical is in play as well as the psychological aspects.
