dreaming about the same stranger multiple times

I have had 2 different dreams, 2 nights in a row. They were both sort of different but had 2 things in common: the desert, and this one strange man that i have never met before in waking life. in the first dream all i remember was being in my car, parked out somewhere in the middle of the desert, with this strawberry blonde man with a beard, whom i don't know from my waking life. I think he was like a client of mine? I think I was helping him with something, for which he had hired me. I remember feeling sort of like a repressed desire towards him? Like I wanted to kiss him but I know I shouldn't because of work and because I was not sure he would return my affection. In the second dream, I remember being at the grand canyon for some reason, and falling into it. I expected to die or get hurt and fall on something spikey for some reason?? But when i reached the bottom i landed softly and instead of being stuck down there there were actually like roads that would lead me back out of the canyon. I had a bike for some reason?? Lol and I somehow got back up to the top, where there was like this hotel cabin thingy, in which i was staying in a room with the same blond bearded guy and some other person whom i cannot recall. In this dream I also remember being in bed next to these people and feeling attracted to this man, but again I couldnt really do anything about it because of the other person in the room, and because I remembered I have a boyfriend (I actually do in waking life) and I knew I shouldnt do it. I feel like theres sort of a theme there and I really want to know what these dreams mean!!

Re: dreaming about the same stranger multiple times

Lesli,
Sorry for taking longer than usual in responding to your dream.
Here is what I see from your dreams. Both do seem to be pointing to the same issues {which is normal as long a the issue{s] remain unresolved} and a re strong emotionally.

First Dream
My sense is this dream is on one level {all dreams have at least two meanings/applications} is addressing a personal complex where you look at things too much in a negative perspective. This causes you to be stagnated {parked car/middle if desert} in certain aspects of your life. It could have to do with achieving goals in your life and/or to do with personal relationships.

One possibility is romantic endeavors since a man with a beard in a woman's dream often symbolizes her libido. Strawberry could also point to sensuality {the unknown man is an animus aspect, the man is a part of your masculine self}. As a part of your psyche, the man with a beard could represent being too assertive and his being blond could suggest a need to quit being so serious all the time.

Could it be you have problems in your relationship with your bf, perhaps feeling stagnated? The complex would come from early life learning, experiences/influences when you were a child that carries over into adulthood. The problem may have to with these personality traits.

The second dream starts out with the same suggestion of have fallen into a motivating complex {Grand Canyon} which gets in the way of some experiences {personal relationships?}. There is an imbalance {bike} in your personality where you may feel a need to be independent and self reliant {which could be harmful in relationships}. The attraction to the man would be in one sense have to do with relationships {romantic} in your conscious life and on another an unconscious 'attraction' to the personal complex {the other person} that hinders these relationships. You have a bf and the complex could be getting in the way of that relationship, aspects of being too self reliant and independent. It may go to issues of trust which would again go back to early life foundations and learning {have experiences as a child of trust}. You are unconsciously motivated by this personal complex {I knew I shouldn't do it}, a 'theme' that continuously plays out in your waking life.

Do you have a personality where you feel you need to be dependent on yourself and not others and/or issues of trusting {men in particular}? The dreams seem to point to these type issues. Or, if I am reading the dream 'backwards', the dreams could be pointing to your being too trusting and too dependent on others in your relationships. Either way it does point to a serious {Grand} complex that motivates your personality and causes an imbalance in your life.

Re: dreaming about the same stranger multiple times

that kind of does make sense... I think I'm a weird mixture of dependent AND independent. For the most part I feel like I'm independent in the sense that I have a very specific set of goals and things I want to accomplish with my life and romantically I just really want someone who will compliment these goals or simply be up to lettin me accomplish them, as opposed to wanting someone whom I can help accomplish THEIR goals. But I know a part of me has a dependence on relationships, for example I know that while I don't want to settle with someone that doesn't satisfy me it's almost like I'm more afraid of being alone than being with someone that isn't 100% good for me. Also I recently discovered something that has made me lose some trust for my boyfriend; these dreams did start happening about a week after that happened so I can definitely relate to the theme of now I'm looking at things more negatively and maybe that has made me feel stagnant in my relationship. Overall that interpretation gave me lots of insight, thank you :)

Re: dreaming about the same stranger multiple times

Leslie,
To be honest I was receiving conflicting vibes from your dream. Your 'weird' mixture of dependent and independent would likely be the reason. These would be strong personality attitudes, something I sensed and presented in my analysis as complexes {we all have some type of complexes}. My statement in the last paragraph { if I am reading the dream 'backwards', the dreams could be pointing to your being too trusting and too dependent} reflects the conflicting vibes as well as how strong the opposing personality traits are. I normally take a position and stay with it but found I needed to add the 'backwards' part to my analysis. Seldom does this happen and when it does there is a reason. Your reply clarifies why in my analysis of your dream.

As for the trust issue. I began to sense the possibility of trust with your current bf as i got near the end of my analysis. The reason why I added the 'men in particular' when it came to trust issues. If what you learned about your bf that caused a loss of trust, that most likely would be separate from any influences complexes. Unless of course any suspicions you have were erroneous. Then it would be a part of the 'Grand' pattern that formed the complex of trust and could be a reason for a need to be independent of men {because of trust}. Other reasons would exist for being dependent but also from early life. Look to your parents as a likely source in seeking answers to the reasons why for one or both.
