window

In my dream, my female therapist contacted a man from my past who I had an unresolved issue without my consent. When I asked her how she got in touch with him, she said she knew someone with connections. I was concerned at first, but then I thought maybe she could sort things out that I wasn't able to myself. While I was in a local office building, the person in question entered the building to a different room. I didn't know there was a window connecting from his room to my room meaning he could see me while he was talking to the therapist. At one time, I overheard him talking to the therapist making some excuse about something he did to me in the past. Towards the end of their meeting, I turned around and noticed him staring at me through the window. I felt frustrated that he might have been watching me without my knowledge. When the therapist entered the room that I was in, I asked her what happend with him. She said she didn't want to talk about it. I told her it was important to me that she tell me what happened since it involved me. She said that one thing for sure if that he was a psychopath. I said that I could have told her that. I was thinking that maybe she didn't believe me when I discussed how horrible his behavior was to me in the past (because most people don't act so extreme) and her negative experience with him proved it. All I can remember is that he left the office and I must have woke up.

Re: window

I told the family member the reason why the person did what was done is because she's a psychopath. Perhaps in my subconscious mind I was thinking the reason why the person in my dream did what he did to me because he's also a psychopath. I never understood why. Also, after the therapist told me about the session with him, it confirmed to me that he didn't care about me at all as a human being, but I think I already knew that.

Re: window

Anonymous,

The title of the dream is usually telling of what the dream is trying to communicate. The window represents insights to inner aspects within you. The therapist would be your inner therapist, the dream being the unconscious tool that nature provides to help resolve emotional issues. The dream seems to be stating you are still working on issues related to the past experience with the 'psychopath'.

For some reason, perhaps a more recent experience that brought back memories of that relationship, you are still trying to reconcile what happened and why. It is as much an unconscious issue which might suggest there are unresolved inner aspects you are not consciously aware of. Look at issues of being manipulated or being deceived {symbolic meaning of psychopath in your dream}. Not just by this past relationship but current relationships. Perhaps the past experience is an unresolved issue because you are now faced with a current situation that requires practical thinking instead of emotional response. What happened in the past may be an issue with the 'psychopath' that requires inner insights involving current relationships {the therapist entered the room that I was in, I asked her what happened with him}. Usually more recent or current experiences bring up issues from your past.

Are there recent or current experiences that relate to this past experience or bring up issues of being manipulated/deceived? The relationship with the 'psychopath definitely left an impression but symbolically the psychopath image may be addressing manipulation or deception in some recent experience or relationship.

Re: window

Thank you. Yes, I'm currently dealing with more manipulation/deception.
