Read the following. Posted Dreams follows.

Dreams are a succession of images, actions and sensations that occur involuntarily in the mind primarily during the REM stage of sleep. Dreams are unbiased, spontaneous products of the unconscious, outside the control of conscious will. The act of dreaming is physical but the contents of dreams is psychological. They are NATURAL expressions of the dreamer's emotional/personal life illustrating experiences that possess strong emotional energies. Although there are literal applications in dreams the primarily language is symbolic, metaphorical of the dreamer's emotional energies.
  • 1. Dreams are about the emotions, emotional energies of the person who is dreaming. They offer advice and a deeper understanding of our waking life as well as the foundations for the emotional energies of the dreamer.

  • 2. The language of dreams is symbolic, but also with literal applications {literal waking experinces}. The symbolic images and actions are metaphors for the patterns or motifs for the dreamer's emotional/psychological/physical life. Every character in a dream is a different aspect of an unacknowledged aspect of the dreamer and/or a prevalent situation in the person's life involving actual persons/experiences {dreams will address both aspects}.

  • 3. The purpose and function of dreams is to guide the conscious self to achieve wholeness and offer a solution to the problems in waking life. Solutions to problems and conflicts from everyday life, as well as the deeper underlying issues, 'emotional injuries' that stem from the foundations of the dreamer {early life experiences and trama experiences in life}.
---Dreams reveal vital information that expose the authentic emotions and feelings that are often concealed from the conscious mind.
---Dreams compensate for conscious attitudes and personality traits that are out of balance.

  • 4. Dreams are intentional. Nature provides us with dreams to understand and help heal emotional conflicts/issues. Just as the body has the immune system to heal and protect, the psych{ology} has the dream.

  • 5. Dreams possess 'Archteypal' representations. Archetypes are universal, original patterns and images that derive from the collective unconscious and are the psychic counterpart of instinct. An archetype is an inherited tendency of the human mind to form representations of mythological motifs-representations of the symbolic images/actions without losing their basic emotional pattern. Dreams and mythology share the same archetypal images, myths as illustrations of the universal patterns and dreams as illustrations of personal patterns.

  • 6. All dreams have at least two meanings or applications. One is the symbolic representation metaphorical of the emotional energies and the second being a literal application where a person, place or experience is addressing a real life experience. Was in a terrorist attack and bf didn't care?

So in this dream/nightmare I was with my ex ( was my bf at the time in the dream). It begins with us on these stands outside watching a college art performance or something like that. Then we get up to leave and he looks back at the woman talking to the crowd and they both give each other this suggestive smile, like I like you type of thing, I feel so small. Then we walk into the city center, and we aren't really talking he says he needs to go to the library on the other side of the road and I decide to go to an art supply shop or something at the top of the street to the right, before he crosses the road there is a blue van with a loud engine that I notice immediately, then I see these dangerous looking men get out of it, and I just sensed they were going to do something bad. He doesn't notice and I just walk up to the store, when I am in there I notice everyone is on high alert because these men have gone on a rampage going into places shooting with machine guns, I am terrified and hundred of people goes to this large hotel car park complex for safety. I am on the ground floor with other people everyone is very nervous. There are security men with guns at the door guarding it, then all of a sudden they say they are coming over here everyone runs up to different floors of the building the top floors are large concrete car parks, where people are hiding under cars and anywhere where they hope not be seen, I am looking frantically for a place a good place to hide where I won't be seen but most of the places are taken, I can see people thinking they are hidden but it is very obvious they are there. I end up just running up to the very top floor where there are windows all over, and everyone is just standing there cause there is no where to hide, the security are telling people they are gradually making there way up to every floor, I am trying to think of a way to get to safety but there is none. I am thinking should i risk going down the stairs but then I could bump into the terrorist people going up and will definitely be killed, I am not ready to die, and terrified. I am then blaming myself like why did I follow everyone into this building, that I should have stayed outside and just ran away somewhere. I keep wondering if my ex is okay and am devastated I won't see anyone again and will die a brutal death. I can't remember how I survived but I did, and I remember later on sitting with my ex and his mother, and he is fine and is like they didn't even come into the library, he didn't care what I went through and he was happy he didn't have to go through any terror or thinking he was going to die, and was glad he went to the library, he said something like if you went to the library with me you would have been fine.

Re: Was in a terrorist attack and bf didn't care?

    Laura,
As with most long dreams there are repetitive actions that say pretty much the same thing. I didn't amplify the last parts of the dream because there was an overriding theme already established from the previous images/actions in the dream. That overriding theme is an issue with men that began in childhood and continues in adult life {and will continue until resolved}. Strong emotional energies related to masculine relationships from your past that affect relationships in the present and future. These are controlling emotional energies that can cause negative if not extreme behavior issues in your waking life. I would look to childhood experiences involving male relationships for the cause of these developed attitudes. There are indications of blaming yourself {usual for someone who has experienced mental or/and physical abuse by a trusted person}.

As for the feelings of fear of dying a brutal death. That is metaphorical language and should not be taken as a literal interpretation. Death often represents closure to an emotional energy/issue. You have to die to the old attitudes and develop new attitudes related to the issue {with men}. And as usual in dreams there is an offering or remedy to what needs to be done to resolve the issue. The library is the key image. A library represents accumulated knowledge/experiences from your past life and getting to core of the issue with men requires study and inner research {as in going to the library to gain knowledge}. What do you have the issues with men? Look at early childhood and life and determine what would cause these psyche energies.

Here is the amplified images and actions from your dream {up to the scene of men with guns}.
