Hi.
I had a dream a couple of weeks ago. I can't clearly remember the details of the first part of the dream, but I will try to write as much as I can (vaguely) remember. Basically, I was walking about during day time in a white building complex as if I was going somewhere. I was not alone in that building. There were other people walking about too, minding their own business as if they've got things to do. The building looked like some government/public building.
Then comes the second part of the dream, which is much clearer. After coming out from that building complex, walking towards where I parked my car by the roadside, it was getting dark in the evening and it was starting to rain. There were people walking by the roadside in the rain, and there were cars passing by just like any other ordinary day. Then I bumped into Jordan Peterson. He had his car (a jeep? Don't know if he owns a jeep in real life) parked beside mine. He was standing outside of his car while waiting for the engine to warm up. We had a small chat. Then Jordan asked me to find what's in the book that I was holding. I opened it up and found a part in it but I told him that I couldn't understand it. He asked me, where is it. I told him, it's in page 39. Jordan opened up his copy of the book and checks it. Then he told me, "if you want to win, you'd really want to win it". I replied, "I don't get it." then Jordan looked straight at me seriously and explained, "if you sort of give in (the vibe I'm getting here is 'to fate / outcomes / circumstances'), you will still win but on the losing end". I became confused and Jordan gave me a serious look with a little nöd as if he's implying, yeah, you've heard me.. kind of look. Before I could ask him to further explain it, I woke up from the dream.
I woke up feeling confused. What does it mean? What does that quote means? How is it possible to win and yet be on the losing end? I've tried to Google the quote but to no success. I think this is by far some of the most detailed dreams I've ever had. Also prior to that dream, it has been quite some time since I last watched Jordan's videos. Strange that he popped up in my dream, and for the first time.
I hope your analysis of the dream is not based mystical / esoteric methods. Thanks for reading.

TBH,
It will be later in the week before I will be able to provide a full analysis of your dream. In the meanwhile if the type of book in your dream was mentioned that would be helpful. Also, is there anything you have in common with Jordan Peterson {besides reading his books}? He has health issues including severe depression. In your dream it is getting dark and starting to rain which can point to the similar issues. Bumping into Jordan Peterson {a clinical psychologist who is very familiar with Jungian psyche} may be relevant to your own psychology.
As for the meaning of the quote. Peterson said, "if you want to win, you'd really want to win it". 'Win it' may be something to ponder. What could 'it' be? "you don't get it" could point to something in your unconscious {dreams are about unconscious energies} you don't understand. Psychology attempts to get to things you don't understand.
As for the quote, "if you sort of give in (the vibe I'm getting here is 'to fate / outcomes / circumstances'), you will still win but on the losing end". What is it in your life you could or need to give in to? You may be on the losing end of something in the short term but in the long run you will win. Psychologically speaking how would that fit in your life?
A full analysis will help in understanding the dream. If the questions I present have relevance knowing how they fit will be most helpful.

TBH,
I appreciate the added info. The more I know about your personal life {you feel comfortable in sharing} helps with my analysis. It will be tomorrow before I am able to analyze the dream {I do so in detail, interpreting by sentence and the individual images, actions and symbols}. It can take several hours to do this.
