The other morning I woke up in a cold sweat. My dad passed back in 2002 and my mom March of 2005. This dream I had really has shaken me up cause I literally saw my mom and dad like in a fog smiling and calling my name. They told me not to worry about anything because I will be with them soon. I really don't know what to make of this dream? I don't want to die yet. I have some more living to do; now I am worried that I am not going to wake up some morning. Please help with an interpretation for me. Thank you!!!

It’s unlikely this dream is premonitory. It may be an expression of a deep inner desire to once again have your parents here with you, their love and reassurance. And it could represent a call, a beckoning, from your Psyche to integrate the two aspects, male and female, anima and animus, towards wholeness. Using your parents as symbols to denote safety and reassurance this is an act of love, self love.

And I must add that time, ‘soon’, is relative to this earthly physical existence. So, if this were a premonitory dream, soon could be 50 years from now. Time as a linear experience is of this 'physical reality'.

Thank you for the interpretation Kathy. Yes, I do miss them very much. I talked to them almost everyday on the phone and visited them all the time when I lived in Massachusetts. I took the bus and then the train to New York and stayed awhile so I could help with chores and shopping and doctor's appointments. Thanks again for your interpretation. It is appreciated.
