Speedex question

I was given a speedex by my father in-law. I know it is an s-series but I am not sure how to tell which one. It has a 32" deck (actual deck measures 33.5") and it has a 4 cycle B&S engine. Can anyone help?

Well, for starters. Does it have a two speed (where you have to lift up a knob to shift and it has three positions the middle being neutral, or does it have a 4 speed transmission which can be identified by a longer shifter and the shifter going into a somewhat normal transmission?) also, does it have a handle sticking out of the top of the hood?

Thank you for the reply, It has three transmission locations and it DOES have a latch sticking up through the top.

More than likely an S-14 but I've seen some 17's with a latch in the hood. That's my best guess
