When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support,  to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are.  They are there for the reason you need them to be.  Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.  Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.  Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.  What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done.  The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

There are many different responses to crisis. Most survivors have intense feelings after a traumatic event but recover from the trauma; others have more difficulty recovering — especially those who have had previous traumatic experiences, who are faced with ongoing stress, or who lack support from friends and family — and will need additional help.

Fallen Riders Foundation

Myself and a couple of others have decided to take a stand. We're doing a Motorcycle Awareness Ride in Alexandria, La. on Jan. 26th this year.
That's part one.
You see, the way it works is that people see what they're conditioned to see. So we stick enough motorcycles in front of them, they'll have the image "imprinted" on their brain and it increases the odds of them actually "noticing" what they see.
Here's part two.
We started a 501C3 nonprofit called the
Fallen Riders Foundation
in the memory of Mick "Whitewolf" Pridmore.
He was one of my Road Capts. and he was the fiance of the lady who stepped up to help this become a reality.
When we've got the website up, I'll come over here and post it for you.
The main thing is, we're there to provide emergency assistance for our fallen brothers and sisters in our own area. Whether they're just passing through or actually live there. If it happens to a biker in our area, we're going to be there to help where we can.
Our help is limited at the moment to actual emergency help.
We're just getting started and don't have a ton of money to work with. So, as far as death goes, we stay in touch with the funeral homes and do what we have to do to "buy time" for locating family.
If a body needs to be transported out of state for funeral services, we try to help with those costs where we can. The main thing is, we're trying to make sure that no rider simply gets "tossed in a hole" without every effort and all available time to locate and get a family member there to make some decisions.
If you want to help, I'll put you in touch with Debbie, if you want to open your own chapter to help in your area, I'll put you in touch with our lawyer and he'll do what he can to make sure it's done right.
As a 501C3 nonprofit, we CAN NOT push politics or politicians, we CAN try to help our own. So that's what we're about.
Once again, once the website is up and running, I'll get it posted here.
Take care, Ride safe, & God bless.

Re: Fallen Riders Foundation

Here's a safety device that just may be worth it's cost. I strongly advise all to at least go look at the thing.

Subject: May 27th 2007 was Universal Rehabilitation Service Agency's 16th Annual Motorcycle Awareness Ride in Calgary, Alberta.

I thought I'd pass this onto you Pappa T, to show what a group can do to support those in need.
Even though I don't support their universal helmet law in Canada, The point is the Motorcycle
Awareness push and support for each other...It's well worth the watch...

Re: Fallen Riders Foundation

we've got the start of the website up, the only link that's working right now is the one to Louisiana Rights of Succession.
Interesting reading for those that think their spouse will automatically inherit. WRONG.

at any rate, here's our website.
It'll get better as we get it more finished.
