When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support,  to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are.  They are there for the reason you need them to be.  Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.  Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.  Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.  What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done.  The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

There are many different responses to crisis. Most survivors have intense feelings after a traumatic event but recover from the trauma; others have more difficulty recovering — especially those who have had previous traumatic experiences, who are faced with ongoing stress, or who lack support from friends and family — and will need additional help.

Re: Is it a Heart Attack or a Motorcycle Crash?

Very interesting reading. This definatly should open the eyes of all who ride, or know someone who does. We have become a serious statistic while our public health care emergency responders have in no way kept up the pace of needed training.
I agree that all who read this need to print copies and foreward them to the appropriate agencys. If you only do two copies, it's less than a dollar spent on postage. If this issue isn't worth a less than a dollar to anyone with riders in their life, I can't see any reason to feel good about attending any event, and giving for any cause. It's not always about how much we give. Sometimes we just need to think about how BEST to give.
Take the time to pass this along. It could be used by local Fire-EMS, news media, local clubs, not to mention ABATE chapters, and state legislators. I think even your insurance provider would be shocked to learn this.
It's our lives on the line here! Don't take it lightly.
Just food for thought by a rider taken down, but not silenced. Safe riding to all. When accidents do happen, pray the responders have a clue how best to help you!
