Dragon dream

Dear all,
I have just discovered your forum and what an inspiration it is. It has answered a lot of personal questions I've had spinning in the crevices of my mind. I have felt that I am embarking on a spiritual journey and that I must let it take its course, no holding back now. It is meant to be. I have never asked for a dream interpretation before. I just clock the dream and move on.
In order for you to interpret my dream, I will provide some background context. I have recently (past year) been communicating with angels and would like to develop this further. I have fears around this but know that it is a good thing and that I would like to help others using this gift if I can develop it. It has been a rough old journey, and like Gerard, I have to work to slay that dragon and wish I could spend more time channelling my energies into my creative Self. Where have I been all these years? Too busy on the treadmill of life ignoring what was going on inside me until my teenage son's problems awoke me.

Anyway, the dream went like this. I saw an animal carcass lying on the floor, some entrails and some flesh hanging off. Could not identify it but it looked like a chicken. I peeled back the skin and saw an insect type scuttle across the entrails very quickly, rather like a small beetle. On closer inspection, I saw that the insect was in fact a miniature dragon in perfect form. The dragon was green and friendly looking. I called it 'croc' as in the dream I didn't know what it was. It grew a bit larger in size but was still small enough to fit in my hand and hopped off around the room in an upright position. It really was a cute and perfectly formed creature. I wanted to hold it and keep it. It kept 'hopping' and exploring the room going on its way. Then it was fired at by a gun held by someone unknown. Another blast followed and the dragon was hit just as it became a red fox. My dream stopped here. Would love to hear back from you.

Take care.

Re: Dragon dream

Hi Salina,
Welcome to the world of self discovery. If anything dreams are about inner realizations and when there is a focus on the dream world there is most always a discovery of that spiritual/creative aspect. It is natural, and it is essential if there is to be true balance and harmony in life.
Dreams can reveal what stage of the hero/heroine journey one may be at in ones personal journey. Since you have realized the importance of the creative self your dreams may be attempting to establish the condition of that most important aspect. The soul's desire is manifested in our dreams and your desire for wholeness is nestled in that creative aspect. This is your dream world and if you keep to the path one day it will be a realization in your waking life.

Whereas the social dragon is what keeps us from realizing many of our creative goals, the dragon in your dream is probably just the opposite. It is that creative self wanting and needing to fully blossom. Out of the dead carcass {the ego centered social being} arises the perfect realization, the creative and spiritual Self. When utilized it will grow and naturally fit with your true self. It is the perfect form within the psyche. When developed it is the perfect formed creature, which is you in the creative mode, living the waking life in accord with the dream life.

But, alas, there are those social demands that take up so much of our energies. We are constantly being shot at from all aspects of the physical world. We have to learn to cope, learn to use our intelligence and be sly {both are symbolic of the fox} about how we address our creative self in a world of physical demands. This is the world we live in, the creative aspect having to endure the pains of growth in the physical world. If you stay the course this dragon {eastern societies see the dragon as a positive} will grow and eventually fit into your life, naturally. My sense this is part of what your dream is focusing.

Your thoughts?

Re: Dragon dream

Thank you for your prompt response! Your interpretation of my dream is wholesome, positive and rings true.
Of course, you are right about balancing the physical demands as well as nurturing the creativity that gets constantly repressed. One does wonder what would happen if the lid were taken off so to speak.
I read Freud many moons ago and if I remember rightly, that it is the socialisation of man that teaches us to supress the ego. I know what I want to do, but due to external influences, (parents, social, financial, family commitments) I proscrastinate. Hopefully my dreams will reveal more. Incidentally, since I have requested that my angels reveal answers to my many questions, I have been dreaming quite vividly and have actually been given solutions, even for the most simple requests in the dream. I will buy Campbell's book on your recommendation, it seems very appropriate for me now.
Kind regards,
Salina
