I have recently had an intense need to hear Tony\'s music again; I\'m not sure what the immediate prompt is. Unfortunately, I am unable to travel to the New England coffeehouses these days, though I do hope he manages to play in NYC sometime. I remember the thrill of experiencing him live back in the \'80s. And I got to know him a bit, too, which was lovely. Such a precious, unique talent, and a riveting performer like no other. Hope you are well, Tony. |

I ate a juicy mango last night and it made me think of you, Tony. Would love to see you in Chicago again some time. Shared your song Mango Time with all of my friends. Irresistible! |

What a treat to hear the music come from the African Bird\'s mouth at last (in Guilford, Vermont last Saturday!!) May your music find audience everywhere and may your record and songs be released from their heady place soon. I cant help but dance every time I hear your music. Those rhythms are in my blood, having grown up near Mazoe, S.Rhodesia in the 50s. Thanks, thanks for a great, living gift Tony. |

Moni Bambo. Zikomo kwambili! Kodi, mungabwela ku Kansas City? I\'ve enjoyed your music for some time now and play some of your songs on my World Sound Radio show. It would be great if you could come out here to the bush of America and do a gig here! |

Tony, I happened by the folk stage at Bumbershoot Festival in Seattle many years ago, heard "Sorry Africa" and was hooked. I sat, listened, and was enthralled. I still play my cassette tape (that's how long ago it was) and you popped into my head today. I hoped to see you'd be touring the States some time soon, as I'd love to see/hear you live again. You make an impact, my friend. Peace and Safe Travels...steve |

What an amazing show by an amazing person. Words are difficult to find to explain how impressive of a performance you gave. It was truly good for the spirit. You are fantastic. May peace be at your feet throughout your journey. |

After attending the mutual love-in that was the Gilmour Street house concert yesterday in Peterborough, I wanted to thank you for a wonderful musical treat - you put it all out there, and it rocked. Kudos to you from a fellow "colonial brat, but not a colonialist " |

Tony's music is intoxicating and electric.. there's nothing else like it anywhere. I can't wait to experience it for myself, in person, one of these days. |

First - thank you. I saw you play at Slave Lake in Alberta at the North country Fair in 1987 - you were otherworldly, and when you sang "Tssik Tssik Tsá" - blew me away that you got everybody singing Tssik Tssik Tsá and listening to the stars - then I saw you at the Edmonton Folk Music Festival in 1988 - again, you were so unique and so you, and again you got the crowd to Tssik Tssik Tsá and it was truly one of the most magical moments in my life to see such a wonderful and passionate man sing with a crowd the way you did. I got to meet you at Slave Lake way back then, and I am thrilled to see you still performing - please harass Terry Wickham to get you back at the Edmonton Folk Music Festival, and I'd be honoured to buy you a beer and listen to the stars here in Edmonton. You've been away from here too long.... Thank you Tony Bird for being Tony Bird, and please know you have a die-hard fan in Alberta, Canada who would love to see you sing and play here again. Until next time, Kevin Dootson |

Tony, I visited NYC in January 2011 and was fortunate to see your concert at the Peoples' Voice Cafe. I enjoyed your music and themes so much; it was uplifting as well as fun. I loved hearing the percussive sounds you made on the side of your guitar. I hope you tour the midwest, especially the Chicago area, sometime. And I also hope you will be putting out a new cd one day soon. Thank You! |
