I was at the Joint Security Area when the crew was released. I took pictures of the buses coming into the JSA. I have a lot of respect for these men. They endured a lot for their country. I wish they could have been returned sooner. |

I got to sit in on an intelligience briefing concerning the Pueblo held in our Wardroom. According to the briefing there were to fighters already in the air at the time the North Koreans attacked the Pueblo. These planes could have prevented the Pueblo from falling into North Korean hands but unfortunately according to the briefing our President showed his true colors and ordered the fighters not to interfere. After this incident both officers and enlisted men aboard my ship, USS Sanctuary AH-17 were talking about not reenlisting. This included men with 10 years or more. |

Today, January 23, 2008, marks the 40th anniversary of the seizure of the USS Pueblo by the North Koreans. As a former Navy Radioman I remember well the anger I felt on that day of what a foreign government was obtaining and what they will probably be doing to our men (which they did). Let us remember well on this anniversary and always those who suffered because of this incident. |

I would like to wish all of the Pueblo crew and their families a very happy hoilday season. Commander Bucher was a great man, as are all of the crew of the Pueblo. God bless all of you. Will there be a 40th reunion in 2008? |

I spent 3 years in the Navy Reserve, 5 years in the US Army, and now Im serving in the Air Force, and always I feel proud of my military heritage, and one example of that heritage was the brave and courage example of the crew of the USS Pueblo performance during their captivity in North Korea, Remember the Pueblo, and God Bless America. I was aboard the USS Buck DD761 in 1968 called to Wonson coast when the Koreans took the Pueblo. I thought at that time we were going in and get our sailors back. The Pueblo Sailors did it for America and some in the lead let them down, but it is never to late to get the Pueblo back instead of letting it sit in captivity as a trophy to North Korea. Time to act. |

I got to meet the Bucher family, when this "hero" lived in Monterey, while he was @ the Naval post grad. school here (after the Pueblo) before moving to San Diego.Ther is another "Hero" that i knew, that america has forgot...He was Col. Harry Fleming accused of collaboration with North Korea as a POW, but he too,did it for the men, and to NOT leave any behind and to bring them 'ALL' back. He was court-martialed and kicked out of service. Both of these men are the epitome of what is to be an Officer/military leader. I am looking @ how to get more recognition for the Col. how does one get the ball rolling for a Preidential pardon? i could use some helpful info. (also I can't seem to find if he was pardoned or not) anyway, thanks for this web page it us GREAT! thankyou |
