I like your site. I was disappointed that you don\'t adopt dogs out of your area. I am in N.Y. I will be down there at the end of August and just checked the web for a Maryland rescue just in case I could take a dog home with me. Perhaps you can recommend another Goldie rescue organization for me. Thanks.

We have had several Goldens through the years

We\'re so grateful that Grreat exists! It became necessary for us to give up our Golden Boy, Max, a few years ago and we contacted Grreat because we wanted him to be in the best hands possible. Our daughter and granddaughter moved in and the medical expenses were too much for us. Our granddaughter was diagnosed with asthma and allergies so we had to make the sad and difficult decision to let our boy, Max, go . . . but only to someone who would love him just as much as we do. We\'ve checked back often to see if there\'s any news, and happily, we recently saw his lovely face! AND, he\'s a therapy dog! We\'re saddened to know that he has cancer, but are encouraged that he\'s outlived the estimate the vet gave him. I miss my conversations with Max, which used to drive my husband crazy. He swore Max knew exactly what I was saying to him and answer me in kind. We love him so very much and thank Grreat for placing him in the perfect forever home. (We only wish we could see him in person one more time but know that may not be a possibility.) God bless you all for taking such good care of our handsome boy. We miss him so very much.

It will be 4 yrs next month since I adopted Kadie from GRREAT. I just wanted to let you know how much I love my Kadie (a.k.a. Casey). She is so quirky and sweet. The girls at the groomers just all love her. They know her background and know she can be alittle skiddish at times and take such good care of her. I couldn’t have asked for a nicer girl. I’m so glad we opened our home to her. :)

GRREAT is a wonderful organization. Many years ago I went to a Golden's picnic, where the dogs and owners competed in dressing the dogs etc. At the picnic T-shirts were sold with a picture of a Golden embroidered, and GRREAT slogan below. Do you still sell them? Here in Tasmania all Goldens are White

Our (almost 13) passed away this July. He was a three-legged cancer survivor with arthritis and spinal spondalosys. Kodi was a wonderful companion who joined us in volunteer work at various lovations.

We think GRREAT is amazing - you have so many wonderful volunteers and fosters. It truly takes a special person to foster, especially the special needs animals (we know). We've been looking at your site for a long time and love the detail you provide and that you get to know the animals and the families they will belong with. We're ready to find a (or maybe two) forever friend so will be downloading the application as soon as we are home.

We had to make the gut wrenching decision to let him go onto Rainbow Bridge at 1 am on 7/11. He was a wonderful loving terrfic comical member of our family who will be tremendously missed. We just lost our dog Emma yesterday. We adopted her through GRREAT 6 years ago and have loved her every minute we have had her. Our adoption became official on Mother's Day 2004 and she was very much a member of our family. We will miss Emma with all of our hearts.

I love this page and reading everyones stories! I had to give my dog up for adoption because he was not the right fit with our grandchildren. He is a wonderful dog and has a lot of love to give. I know he will be adopted to a family that is the right fit for him! I really miss him and Grreat has been wonderful! I am looking forward to adopting a golden who is the right fit for our family!!

I am very grateful to GRREAT for bringing me Harper after the sudden passing of my beloved Golden, Shadow. I will always be in the debt of GRREAT for rescuing me as well as the other pets. Harper has helped to turn my pain into joy. I did not believe I could love again after Shadow's passing. Thanks to all of the GRREAT people for making my life worth living again. We just lost Marley (GRREAT 98-159) to hemangiosarcoma and lymphoma on Oct. 4, 2009. We were lucky to share 11 years with her after adopting her at one year of age in Sept. 1998.
